I have discovered a way of reading books for myself. The method has totally changed my perspective on reading books. This may also be the case for many of you.
This started when I came across a book called 'Every Street is Paved with Gold' by Kim Woo Chung of the Hyundai fame.
This started when I came across a book called 'Every Street is Paved with Gold' by Kim Woo Chung of the Hyundai fame.
I never bought this book and was never aware of the man. I just found it lying in someone's home which I decided to read, the heading being somewhat uncommon.
I remember, as I started reading soon I got very bored. The book was talking about hard work and more hard work which should be taken up by the new generation.
This was a letdown when compared to the cover of the book. I never expected the secret to be successful is hard work only. I felt sad and disheartened. I kept the book aside.
Then one day I had nothing at hand to read, I decided to give the book another try. But I was very bored with the idea of starting all over again with the 'hard work' thing.
I was holding the book unwillingly, not knowing what to do. I just went to the middle of the book. The middle of the book contained many photographs of the author at different times of his life and his milestones, success stories.
This was interesting and inspiring as well. Again I got interested in the book which was apparently disgusting. Then there was desire inside to know about the great man.
I started reading the book but not from the beginning. I landed up at random chapters and was exploring the different events in the life of the author and how he became successful and famous through simple steps with grit and integration of his behaviour.
From then on I never thought of completing the book. Rather I was searching for more and more. In no time I discovered that I have gone through all the pages of each chapter of the book.
The book became one of my best reads.
